Candy Boxes - PDF | Solution (PDF)

It's time for another Boxes puzzle, and this time it's a contest! Special for the Halloween season, it's called "Candy Boxes." The instructions are included, and when completed, the letters not used in Boxes entries will suggest the name of a one-word candy brand. Email this candy brand by next Thursday, November 7th. I'll randomly select two solvers from correct submissions, one current subscriber and one current non-subscriber. Winners will win a three-month subscription (or three-month extension, if already subscribed) to Aries Rows Garden. I'll post the solution as well as announce the winners next week after the deadline. Hope you enjoy!

Back with a second Boxes puzzle for this month's variety puzzle. From a solving perspective, these puzzles are among my favorite of the Patrick Berry-developed variety puzzle types, and they're very enjoyable to create as well. PDF only for this format - hope you enjoy!

Back with the first variety puzzle of 2023! I finally tried my hand at one of these "Boxes" puzzles - a format I've also seen under the "Packing Crates" name. To my knowledge (do correct me if I'm wrong) this is another puzzle format developed by the masterful Patrick Berry. This is one of my favorite variety formats out there to solve - particularly those in which Patrick seeds the grid with a bonus answer made from the letters not used in Boxes entries, as is the case with this puzzle, "Press Boxes." I always was a bit intimidated by the format which is why I didn't try writing one for a long time. This puzzle definitely was a challenge to write but not brain-numbingly challenging, so I hope to return to the format in the future. PDF only for this format. Hope you enjoy!
